Hard at work

I decided to take my camera to work today since we were doing some work on the stack. We were at the top here, 500 feet off the ground. Can you believe some guys are afraid to go up there? This is the grating you walk on.
Fly-bye... that was close!
This is the falcon nest. The same female has been hatching chicks in it for 10 years. There is a web-cam mounted in front of it. It is mounted on the 375' level.

This may be a dumb question, but how do you get to the top? Do you have to climb stairs all the way up or is there a lift or an elevator or something? And what's with the hard hat? Is that supposed to protect your head or something if you fall or is there something above you that could potentially fall on your head?

Just curious. :)

There is an elevator and I think the hats protect them from falcon poo

Yes, I kind of get queasy looking off my deck, too but it is when we climb the heights we get the view. That is a neat view looking up the river. Mom S.

I guess I should clarify which picture - the one without the airplane even though Hannah is the pilot! Mom S.

Helen has not! Heights are not my thing but Shaun has/does we have some pics he has taken from up there. Only way to get most of the farm in one picture.
Cool pictures! I'm glad it wasn't me up there!
