Detours

Last week was rather interesting getting to work due to all the closed roads from the flooding. Hwy. 35 was closed all week until Friday afternoon. Monday and Tuesday I had to go on the detour to Viroqua to get to Genoa (route shown in red). This took about an hour on a normal 20 minute drive. Tuesday night I started going on the purple route. Hwy.162 was still closed but I went on it anyway. They were stopping some people and giving out tickets for driving on closed roads. This route takes about 35 minutes. The roads were washed out in quite a few places and there was a lot of mud and water still coming across the roads. They are a lot better now since we haven't had any rain for a few days. Were you the lucky recipient of one of those tickets?

I looked too much like a local, with the muddy old p/u.
